Privacy at Tank Prices

Analytics

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to count page visits and understand which parts of Tank Prices people use. The Google tag only loads after you accept. You can change your choice using “Analytics choice” in the footer.

We send page paths without query strings, and we do not send your postcode search term to Analytics. Google may set analytics cookies after you accept. Read Google’s privacy policy for details of its processing.

Searches and location

Your search is used to show matching places and stations. A postcode or place entered in the search can appear in your browser’s address bar and history.

If you choose “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission first. Tank Prices never asks on page load. Your coordinates are rounded to about 100 metres and sent only to Tank Prices to find nearby stations. We don’t store them or send them to a mapping or geocoding service, but the rounded coordinates appear in the results page address, so they can appear in your browser history. You can withdraw location permission in your browser settings at any time.

Fleet fill-up checks

When you check a CSV of fill-ups, your browser reads the file and sends Tank Prices only the date, postcode, fuel, litres and price columns. We use them to work out the comparison and return the result. We don’t store the rows, write them to logs or share them. Nothing is kept once the result has been sent back.

Tank Prices Pro enquiries

If you contact us about Tank Prices Pro, we store the details you give us (name, work email, company, what you’re interested in and your message) to reply to you about Tank Prices Pro. We don’t add you to a mailing list or share your details. Ask us to delete them at any time.

Price widgets on other websites

Tank Prices’ embeddable widgets set no cookies and load no analytics or adverts. The website showing the widget may have its own privacy policy.
